Monolith Forensics is a software company that specializes in technology for the digital forensics industry. Their flagship product is Monolith: a case, evidence, & analysis management platform designed to help digital forensic labs manage their case loads.

About a month ago I stumbled upon a couple of LinkedIn posts relating to Monolith Forensics. I was surprised to find out they had a couple of free software programs available for law enforcement. One of those programs that I was thoroughly impressed with was Monolith Notes. A no frills case/ notes management software that allows you to track all your cases and notes for cases locally on your computer. It has now replaced my simple Excel Spreadsheet that I was using to track my cases and it houses all of my case notes which is amazing.

Monolith notes will also allow you to assign cases to specific investigators making it extremely useful for ICAC Supervisors to keep track of case loads and stats. Even better, you can export reports and case notes in excel and word document formats. For a free tool it really fills a void left by a lot of other case management systems out there and you can't beat the price. Check out the software below and if you are in need of a management tool for your forensics lab, give them a look!
